We are proud of our 116 years of experience, currently Kalnapilis brewery is one of the most modern and innovative in the Baltic States. Being contemporary and innovative Kalnapilis is also passionate about the highest quality and is a winner of numerous beer festivals.

Brewery modernization. New can line installed allowed toincrease can packaging capacity 4 times – till 100 000 000 L.

Became Heineken partner in the Baltic.

Became a supplier of the Walmart in Chile.

Lačplesis Brewery
1902
In the early 50s of the last century, there lived a father and a son on the shore of the Daugava, who were united by love for good, properly prepared beer. As befits real men, they proved this love not in words, but in deeds - every year, on Midsummer celebration day, making the beer for their family, friends, and neighbors.
1935
The fame of the beer spread far beyond their native region, and soon people from all over Latvia went on a long journey in hope of trying it. It did not even come to minds of the first brewers - to become owners of a large brewery, their only goal was the delicious beer of the highest quality.
2004
“Royal Unibrew” acquired the company “Lačpleša alus“.
2017
New “Lačplesis“ sub-brand “Staburags“ was launched.
2019
Today, this beer is known to us under the brand “Lačplesis” - and fifty years later, it is made of the finest ingredients, with the unchanged care and focus on the highest quality and taste consistency.
Cido Grupa
1994
“CIDO Grupa” (original name - Cido Pārtikas Grupa) was founded in 1994, taking over the production of soft drinks by SIA RyBarg, which was established in 1993, and the state-owned company - the beverage factory Milgravis. SIA RyBarg, which was the predecessor of Cido Pārtikas Grupa, filled the first bottles with the wild strawberry syrup and the sparkling beverage SunSet in 1993. Since then, the company has much invested in the production of juices to meet the world’s highest standards.
1996
The company was the first in the Baltics to produce natural juice in a pack with a cap.
1998
Two years later, the company invested in a new production line in order to fill juices in small 0.2-liter packs.
2004
“Royal Unibrew” acquired company “Cido Grupa”.
2005
“Cido grupa” got the quality standard ISO 22000.
2006
The company invested in a new production line to fill juices in half-liter packs and FSSC in PET.
2007
Investment to expansion of Tetra Pack formats: 1.5 L format.
2015
Pepsico licence agreement signed.
